// QUESTIONS
Before you ask
Are the models actually game-ready, or will I be retopologizing everything?
Exports are clean quad-dominant meshes with sensible edge flow, unwrapped UVs, and no overlapping shells. They're built to drop into an engine, not to be sculpt-cleanup projects. For hero assets you can always refine further, but you start from usable topology, not a scan blob.
What poly counts are we talking about?
You set the budget per generation, from low-poly mobile and Roblox-friendly counts up to higher-detail PC targets. Generate the same asset at multiple budgets if you need your own LOD chain.
Do models come with textures and materials?
Yes. Each export ships with its texture set, and FBX and GLB both carry the material assignments, so assets show up textured on import instead of gray.
Are characters rigged?
Character generations can include a standard humanoid rig, which Unity's Humanoid system and Unreal's retargeting both understand. Props and environment pieces export as static meshes.
What hardware do I need?
A Windows 10 or 11 PC with an NVIDIA GPU: minimum 8 GB VRAM on an RTX 20-series or GTX 16-series card or newer, with 16 GB RAM and 40 GB of SSD space. For the fastest generations we recommend 16 GB+ VRAM (RTX 4070 Ti Super or better) and 32 GB RAM. The full spec table is one click away in the hero section.
Is it really unlimited? What's the catch?
There's no catch because there's no server. Shapecast is standalone software installed on your computer, so there's nothing metering you, no credits, and no queue. Your GPU is the only limit.
Who owns the models? Can I sell my game, or my prints?
You do, and yes to both. Every export is yours to use commercially: ship it in a game, sell the physical prints, list the minis on your Etsy. No royalties, no attribution required. Because generation runs locally, your prompts and outputs never leave your machine either.
Will platforms like Steam have a problem with AI-generated assets?
Most major platforms allow AI-generated content with disclosure. Steam, for example, asks you to note AI usage when you submit your build, which is a checkbox, not a blocker. Policies are set by each platform and can change, so check the current rules for wherever you're shipping.
Will someone else's game end up with my exact model?
No. Generations are seeded per run, so the same prompt produces different results each time, including on your own machine. That's also how you iterate: rerun the prompt until the take fits your game.
How does the lifetime license work? One machine? What about v2?
One license activates the software for you, and you can move it if you upgrade your PC. Every v1 update is included forever. If a paid v2 ever ships, early bird buyers get preferred pricing, and your v1 keeps working regardless.
Can I 3D print the models?
Yes. Shapecast exports watertight, manifold STL meshes sized in real millimeters, so they drop straight into your slicer. Miniatures, busts, terrain pieces, cosplay props: if you can prompt it, you can print it.
Will prints need supports or cleanup?
That depends on the shape and your printer, like any model. Meshes come out manifold with no holes or self-intersections, so slicers handle them cleanly. Overhangs still follow the laws of physics, so your slicer's normal support settings apply.
